Fish Fry

Each year our Post is one of the most popular spots for fish fry events during the seven weeks of Lent. Traditionally we featured our all-u-can-eat program for a very reasonable price and we attracted visitors from all over the Chicago suburban area. Of course the last two years have been quite challenging with the pandemic, but we are hoping we will be able to return to our normal program in the spring of 2023. Please check back in the spring for an update.

Cruise Nights

TINLEY PARK CRUISE NITES
Once again this year our VFW is title sponsor and host of the Tuesday night "CRUISE NIGHTS" . Every Tuesday in June, July and August we host 175-200 classic cars and trucks on Oak Park Avenue from 171st street to North street. Our tents are set up and ready to go by 4:30 each week to provide a wide range of food items, cruise night t-shirts and information for veterans.

Carribean Block Party

The village is in the process of revising the plans for this annual event. We will be meeting with the village staff soon for more information and will update this page as soon as we know more.

ST. Patrick's Parade

Each year the Village of Tinley Park hosts a St Patrick's Day Parade, always held on a Sunday afternoon in early March. The parade is led by the combined Color Guards of our VFW and American Legion, along with veterans from other organizations.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day Services are held annually at the newly dedicated Veterans Memorial Plaza, located at the new 80th Avenue train station. Our VFW Color Guard joins with the color guards from the American Legion, Korean War Veterans and the Marine Corps League for a solumn tribute to our fallen Veterans.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day ceremonies are held annually at the newly dedicated Veterans Memorial Plaza, located at the 80th Ave. Train Station.
